Marine-i launches its Marine Technology and Innovation Showcase

Marine-i has announced that all businesses supported by Marine-i are invited to a showcase event taking place on 3rd March 2023 (9am – 3.30pm) at the Atlantic Hotel, Newquay.
The event will mark the culmination of the Marine-i project, which will draw to a close in Spring 2023.The Marine Technology Innovation Showcase event will celebrate the project’s achievements over the last six years as well as highlight future opportunities for the marine tech sector in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.
Guest speakers will include Layla Burrows from Innovate UK, Mark Duddridge, Chair of Cornwall & Isles of Scilly Local Enterprise Partnership and Ralph Singleton from FSE Group C&IoS Investment Fund
Since 2017, the Marine-i project, part funded by the European Regional Development Fund, has assisted nearly 200 business projects across Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly. The project has helped businesses access research, product development and innovation support through grants, academic expertise and world class testing.
The event on March 3rd is open to all businesses that have been supported by Marine-i, as well as other businesses and organisations that are stakeholders in the project or associated with it. For these businesses and stakeholders, the event is free to attend.
The event will include talks by some of the businesses supported by Marine-i, guest speakers and the presentation of the Marine-i business awards, together with a networking lunch and a showcase exhibition. It will also include the launch of a showcase publication designed to highlight the project’s achievements.
Prof Lars Johanning, Programme Director of Marine-i, said: “It has been a privilege to work closely with many outstanding marine tech businesses over the last six years, helping accelerate their innovations on the path towards commercialisation. This event will be an opportunity to celebrate these successes and look towards the exciting future for marine tech in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.”
