PRESS RELEASE: ‘From Wave to Grid’ – Latest developments in WEC Electrical Design

‘From Wave to Grid’ – Marine-i event will highlight the latest developments in Wave Energy Device Electrical Design

 Keynote speaker:  Simon Cheeseman – Wave & Tidal Sector Specialist at ORE Catapult

Presenters: Dr Othmane El Mountassir -  Senior Electrical Engineer at ORE Catapult and Dr Mohammad Abusara- Senior Lecturer in Renewable Energy at University of Exeter.

 This free Discovery Room event will be led by Dr Othmane El Mountassir, who will discuss PTO, generators, export cables and connectors, and subsea architecture. He will be supported by Dr Mohammad Abusara, who will talk about grid simulators for testing WECs.

 Attendees will be encouraged to discuss areas of best practice and identify lessons learnt with a view to creating a regular technical forum for wave developers that will accelerate wave energy development.

 Simon Cheeseman, Sector Lead for Wave & Tidal Energy at ORE Catapult says:
